Asthma Treatment Ion Air Purifier

Causes of Mold Allergies

Mold allergies are caused by airborne mold spores and are found almost everywhere. These spores can get into your nose and respiratory tract and cause common symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, and itchy and watery eyes. More serious illness resulting from allergies to mold include:

  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness
  • Aggravated asthma
  • Lung infections

An ion air purifier can slow down the growth of mold or even eliminate it all together. The humidity level in a home should be kept below 40% and an air purifier will help to do this for you. A dehumidifier or air exchanger will also help to control the humidity in the home. These products contain filters that you have to change on a regular basis. The bathroom and kitchen areas of the home also need to be vented properly and any areas in the basement that allows air in from outdoors should be sealed.

Mold - It's Not Just a Summer Problem

Indoor mold causes problems all year round, rather than seasonal. The common cause of the mold is usually damp basements and bathrooms, but it can develop in any area of the home especially areas where fresh food is stored.

An air purifier that traps dust, dirt and mold spores using ions works in a similar manner to an electrostatic air purifier. It draws the particles out of the air to surfaces and traps them on easy to clean plates. One of the main benefits is that such a purifier can handle large quantities of air so it can be used in large open spaces in buildings. It neutralizes allergens and viruses and is of particular benefit to anyone suffering from a respiratory illness, such as asthma or emphysema.
